Fitted sheet with toggles

Stop the sheets pinging off

There is nothing worse than fitted sheets, maybe slightly shrunken ones, springing off the mattress.

[smizou] (link) suggests a velcro retainer.

I'd be happier with half a dozen toggles on each side of the mattress and the sheet having button holes.

The toggles will each be fixed to the mattress with some beefy elastic ropes to provide relatively constant sheet tension.

Carbon copy the idea for the electric underblanket and mattress protector.

Couldn't you just fill a room with pinging off mattress covers that had been tuned to make a variety of noises, then with some simple timing create a "Mattress Cover Pinging Off" orchestra? That's what I would do anyway.

Why can't a fitted sheet attach via velcro or plastic clips to a matching sheet under the mattress?

I got 3-way elastic sheet corner clips that have triple clips to keep everything flat. They seemed like a good idea at the time, but they are a PITA to deploy or remove. I see them there on the side table with my belt, next to the wrinkly sheet.

Um, I have more than fifty fitted sheets to be dealt with almost daily.
It's been just over five years now since this became a concern of mine.
All of those fitted sheets are still in service which can't be said of many of the other sheets.

The problem is not your fitted sheets.
I suspect it is the frequency of your laundering of them.

//The problem is not your fitted sheets.//

I've been through some bedding in the last few years. Matching the fitted sheet to the mattress, particularly in depth is key here. The winner of ~4 sets has been LL Bean, Good cotton, and they label "Short side" & "Long Side" on the fitted sheet. Even so, it's ever so slightly too generous in depth for the mattress meaning there's a little excess material to enable wrinkles.
