The rules are exactly the same as those for the shot put, but instead of a heavy metal sphere, the implement is a fruit. The type of fruit is determined randomly just before the competition. The possible fruits include grapes, oranges, mangoes, watermelons, and peaches.
Include, not comprise

Why throw, when you can...

So it's shot put with a random weight shot? |
Are you just creating an idea to fit into this random category? And more importantly why are avacados excluded as a possibility? |
I suggest fruit baseball if you want to get messier. You can put some wicked curves on a banana. |
I didnt say avocadoes were excluded; I just failed to specify that that list is not exhaustive. And yes, its shot put with objects of random weight, but also random size, shape and surface texture. |
I would also like to see "watermelon relays". Just for the heck of it. |
[AO] Careful, or you'll start a discussion about whether it's accurate to designate a selection of surface textures as a "random" when starting with the limited available choices of fruit surface textures. |

This being said, please include the pineapple. |
Good point. I should have said that the name of each fruit available on the day of competition is written on a card, all the cards are put into container, mixed up, and the judge selects one of the cards without looking to determine which fruit it used. |
Any edible fruit, including most nuts and some vegetables may be used. |
//The possible fruits include grapes, oranges, mangoes, watermelons, and peaches.// May I please suggest a phrase between the words 'include' and 'grapes'?. The phrase is ',but are not limited to,' Thank you. |

I vote for pumpkins! <link> |

There once was a man from West Kent
Whose banana was so long that it bent
He had to fold it in two
To have sex with you
So instead of coming, he went. |

Although the idea of throwing fruit is vaguely amusing, the lack of a fixed weight/shape/texture means that the 'event' is no longer fair or sporting and hence anybody playing "fruit put" would soon get bored with the lack of competitive motivation. You could fix this by using the variation of fruit like a handicap mechanism to even-up the differences between the athletic prowesses of the competitors. Otherwise the idea is just "throw some fruit about". |

I once received a bronze for kumquat. |

I failed to medal in the watermelon. |

How about throwing various dwarfs into large piles of fruit... |
