So we're told that 0.5% of males are direct descendants of
Genghis Khan. Throw in the occasional Tom, Dick, Harry or
other sovereign, and it'll turn out that many of us carry royal
blood, which factors into Ancestry and similar service
advertising.
But while we may all be royal, some are
clearly more royal
than others, and there's no real reason to trust great-great
aunties version of events anymore, when services like
23andme can certify our royalty score, to be proudly shared
on Facebook right next to our vocabulary score, and on
Buzzfeed with promising clickbait like "20 royals you are
related to, #9 will shock you"

There are more than a few royals I don't want any part of by
the reasoning of their inbreeding. Have you seen Prince
Charles? |

I guess I'd have to go with the Plantagenets, Vernon, what
with them being the mainstays of one of my favorite movies
in The Lion in Winter, and on top of that related to Rollo,
featured in Robin Hood and reluctantly signing the Magna
Carta. Ivan was after all, simply terrible :) |
