Gel toothbrush

The brush that fits

I opened a new toothbrush packet today to find that the hand it was designed for can't have been seen on this earth for over a million years.
With the huge variety of hands in the world today, one toothbrush handle must be made to be useable by all of them - enter, the gel toothbrush.
The centre of the handle is a hard material (such as a tough plastic), this is surrounded by a gel, encompassed by a maleable membrane such as rubber. The gel will have the consistency of super glue (while it is still in the tube), and so will mould into the shape of the hand using it.

Not sure which would be a fridge or a pooduck though. [hidden truths, Jul 14 2005]

It would be nice if there was a way of setting the gel so that it was permanently moulded to your hand.

       Eeew.

[wags] Wouldn't that make it difficult to do other stuff like type, or eat, or ...well, pretty much anything that involves using your hands for anything except teeth cleaning?
AbsintheWithoutLeave, Jul 08 2005

Hmm. I use a variety of grips and hand positions when I brush. Seems this only works for the initial grip.

I envision a Stretch Armstrong type thing.

My toothbrush has some suft malleable rubbery type gel-like material around 75 % of the handle. I like my toothbrush.

[Bristolz] I do the same, the handle need not be set after the first use, it can remain as squashy as ever to allow for moving it around in the hand.

My toothbrush handle is broad, flat, and not gel-like in the least. Great brush and I like it, but now I wonder if gel would be better.

[AWOL], on the plus side you would have very clean teeth.

It's only a toothbrush for God's sake! You hold it twice a day at about 2 minutes each average I'd guess. Having a handle which doesn't fit properly is not going to ruin your life.

[Pooduck] It's all about the experience!

The orgasmic experience of having a handle that fits?
pooduck, Jul 09 2005

I thought this was an idea for toothbrushes for genteel young English females, in a sort of Cheltenham College/Joyce Grenfell style.
