BorgCo are consdering a breeding and training programme to provide humans who have visual impairments with bears to act as companion and assistance animals.

Bears are highly intelligent omnivores, learn quickly, and are amenable to something resembling domestication. This could be enhanced by selective breeding.

There would be many advantages. Bears can sit in human chairs; they will enthusiastically enter standard passenger vehcles - evidence shows that in National Parks in the USA, it is quite a challenge to stop them. When well fed, they are not particularly agressive. And a person accompanied by a seeing-eye bear is unlikely to be a victim of street crime.

Bears; the big (very big)* new thing in assistance animals. Get yours today !

*Some bears like the Sun bear and the Spectacled bear are actually quite small, and cute (but still have fearsome teeth and claws). The breeding stock would be chosen from small specimens with placid temperaments.

Only if it's Iorek Byrnison, not in that naff armour in the film ver. Might make an exception if it's that mecha polar bear in Shibuya.
