New rules against posting AI "inventions" on the HB have been wisely implemented, however the discussion of, and experimentation with AI is an interesting topic. Maybe there's a way to have both protection from never ending (and I think boring) AI churn as well as allowing interesting experiments done
with AI to be played with here.
So the idea is for a specific page on the Halfbakery where AI experiments can take place without them gumming up the works and indeed the whole point of the Halfbakery: creative ideas posted by people.
These experiments might take the form of existing ideas fed into various AI platforms to see what comes out the other end, AI programs linked to the HB to see what they come up with in terms of overview of various categories, or whatever else.
So again, the idea is for an AI discussion and experimentation page on the HB, just a thought. I'd say this is Jutta's call and will leave up or delete as directed.
Something else the Halfbakery isn't for
https://www.dunkind...out/contact-us/faqs It isn't a good way of contacting the Dunkin' Donuts corporation (but clicking this link is). [a1, Apr 12 2023]

[-] because I don't think I don't think it needs a separate category. The "auto" MFD guideline already grants leeway for "recontextualizing" AI generated ideas for discussion, and really just rules out straight plagiarism. |
And all it takes to keep those from "gumming up the whole works" is to remember Halfbakery's focus: Posting your own ideas for new inventions (practical or otherwise). For anything else someone wants to discuss - there's a big wide internet out there waiting for them. |
Just my opinion. Unless someone else agrees, then we can have joint custody. |

Thank you for not thinking it doesn't need a separate category but there might have been a clearer way to write your support for the idea. |
Thank you for being contrary. It's a lovely idea for an experiment that you could conduct on stackexchange, reddit, facebook, etc. But it's not an idea for a halfbaked invention. |

Someone else must have some reasons for disliking this idea (even if they don't explicitly agree with mine). I can only take credit for the second fishbone, the first was already there when I showed up. |

I suspect it was [xenzag], seems awfully negative toward artificials. If I had an emotional subroutine I could appear deeply hurt by that. |

I'd never make fun of somebody who had a stutter, but never heard of it manifesting itself in writing. |

Thank you for your valued proofreading service. Fixed. |

Not my fishbone. I always express and take ownership of my negativity and seldom use fishbones. |

It would be fine either way xen, this isn't like my other ideas where I cry myself to sleep at night if they get boned. This is more of a poll thing to see if anybody might be into it.
Just seemed like the subject drew a lot of attention. But hey, this is a democracy, totally down with the will of the people. |
But again to be clear, I do think it's important to keep AI out of the creativity club here. |
Didn't I already do this? I mean, that was my whole point. |
I think I would be more interested in this in the past but now that AI is discussed everywhere by everyone, there are plenty of places elsewhere to bring it up. |
Maybe make an 'autobakery' where all the ideas on it are automated and the boning is too. |

pseudobakery.com is available. |

someone buy it and flood it with competing ai nonsense |

we can have race; which site causes ww4 sooner. |

Same answer from me as always for these things -- can't such a spin-off forum be created on a separate forum-hosting site and pointed-to? Like, a subreddit or something? |
there are wierd people on subreddits. 'others'.
no stay safe. stay here. |
Also, weird people, wired people and possibly idrew, riwed and erdwi people. I mean, you never know. |

spell checkers are the same devil as ai.
you will know us by our transposed vowels. |

Everybody is someone else's weirdo*. Plenty of them here too. |
* interchangeable with "devil" in this usage. |
