Ham ball
What I thought the hammyball was going to be (I was dissapointed) | |
A ball made of compressed ham, maby about the size of a
basketball, serves no real purpose, I guess you could eat it
at
christmas or somthing if you wanted, I think I would just
gaze
at it in wonder though.
Molded ham is baked. Maybe not sperical though.

Should cook evenly, methinks |

Dubya could drop it on Muslims. Comes through your roof with a note saying, Come, Eat. Or follow your Prophet into starvation. Cultural conquest for all. |
May I just add that by no means is this limited to ham. |
So the ham comes in its own basketball net? |
No thanks to turkey balls. |
Dogs would love this....... |
Are you envisaging something like a spherical kebab ? Ham, turkey, chicken, lamb, beef .... the possibilites are endless. A large sphere of low-fat, gristle-free meat, annointed with herbs, spices and gravy ..... it would garce any dining table. |
It could be built up in layers of different meats, like a gobstopper. Gets my vote. |
"A Giant orb of Spam graced the bountiful table, aahhh the presentation was superb." |
"Could someone roll me the ham?" |
Certainly opens up a whole new line of ovenware possibilities. Not to mention the custard-filled ham and the pinata ham. |
How about a dodecahedr-ham? At least it won't roll away while you try to carve it. |
...it rolled off the table and on to the floor... |
I once garced at the dining table. |
I just can't help but think about all those poor castrated animals running around... |
Isn't the problem with carving somewhat-spherical foods that they already tend to 'pop' out from under the knife? This ham ball would be impossible to carve! It should be sold with a big F-clamp, or a leg-hold trap to properly secure it. |
We, being the resourceful group we are, could invent the "large and sturdy dinner table vice gripper", to efficiently hold our round balls of meat in place, whilst we sliced. |
We carefully tie our Swedish meatballs in square knotted spagetti. |
Images of mini ham balls in foil wrapped packets come to mind. Just blast 'em in the microwave for 30 seconds and *ping!*... freshly cooked, gravy filled, bread-crumb coated, crunchy, gooey, salty (e.t.c.) ham balls in your hand.
Another possibility is the mini fish ball of course (which comes with mini potatoes as well)
{I live in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom if you were wondering about the fish and chips reference} |
Wow... an idea of mine gets recognised by somebody else's idea. Champagne please. |
Would there be a national hambasketball league? |
[Nickthegreat] Sure! Imagine the speciality moves such as the "gravy sidewinder" or the "gristle blinder". I think that the net should be replaced by a bucket of sauce, therefore covering the ball in gooey stuff, making the game more exciting. Of course, the winners will get to eat the ball. Ew...can u imagine the dirtiness of it after the game!?
:p |
You could carve ham sculptures out of these too. |
Ham it up at the bowling alley while resizing the grip |
Outer layer to inner layer, ham - lamb - turkey - beef -
chicken with a liquid cheese center, ofcorse every meat
layer will be surrounded by the appropriate herbs and
stuffings. |

// Dons flameproof suit, knocks vigorously on the door to 8/7s bomb shelter. // |

< Hears knocking, puts down recipe book ("To Serve Man"). Puts fava beans on stove, opens bottle of nice Chianti> |

I'm all for golf ball sized ham balls. Maybe precooked and in little gold and black (chocolate candy) like wrapper. Unwrap, pop in mouth and enjoy. Why not. Can I get a begal with that? |
Wait, isn't that wat McDon's does. I think they get their ham in little spam like balls then just flatten them on the grill. |
