Has this been done before?
You start with the premise that at any given time, there's
a
"best team in all of sports" and work backwards from
there. For instance, winning the Super Bowl, World Cup,
World Series etc 3 years in a row, a team winning their
respective championship would probably
be
able to safely assert that they're the greatest of all the
sports teams in the world.
This would be an interesting and challenging job for
statisticians. Many
factors would be taken into consideration. Points over
competitors, wins, even statistics of individual players.
Bettors could actually bet on any team in any sport to
beat
any other team in any other sport.

Who would decide the rules? I see problems with a top golfer taking on a top cricket team. "It's not fair, one of them keeps picking up the ball and throwing it to one of the others!" |
|
|
Other problem matches might be basketball vs. football, cycle racing vs. motor racing, high jump vs pole vault, rifle shooting vs. shot putt etc. |

By "intra" do you mean "inter"? |
|
|
Ahdunno. Intra means "all in" and inter means...
ooh! A squirrel! On vacation in paradise, un-
concerned about such things. |

"In today's news the San Francisco Giants said ''errrrr,
no" when asked to remove their body armour for a
game of rugby" |

You see, your entire edifice falls apart with "etc". |

In what way does paradise include squirrels? |
|
|
Paradise always includes squirrels... and frisbees and balls and sticks and interesting smells. |
|
|
Ah, yes, now that is paradise. Unfortunately I don't meet
all of the requirements for eligibility. |
