MenuTable
Make restaurant dining an informed pleasure | |
The table at which diners are sat is an
interactive menu screen. Touch sensitive,
allowing realtime screening of menus,
dishes' descriptions, pronunciation guides,
everything, with a broadband link to the
Internet, advertising featurettes, even
short documentaries or longer films for
those
dinners which seem to drag on too
long! All this would need would be some
software written to tie it in to the kitchen,
check on the ratings and tasting notes of
all the wines in the restaurant's cellars,
order a cab home... the applications are
almost endless! And, children and others
could be entertained, amused and
informed by the eTable while the rest of
the party is awaiting the food. I'm taking
orders now.

Isn't this what the waiting staff are for? |
|

Hating the idea of the equivalent of a TV in a restaurant I want to resist this. It does sound quite useful, so I'll bun it. But surf the internet while dining with me and you'll quickly find yourself alone. |

Aw, but we could simultaneously annotate over a bottle of Cote Rotie Jamet at Rover's or Col Solare at El Gaucho. |

Ok, you've won me over. Though if you go to El Gaucho (ew, steakhouse) I'll have to chat from Rover's. |

surely this has been done ? if not, a fresh croissant for you. |
