Ispired by [AusCan]'s Ultra Compact Christmas Tree, this Christmas tree would need no tree at all and hang from the ceiling.
Every led light, ball, and ornament are wafer thin when packed away but spring origamically into 3d shapes when unpacked and are counterballanced in ever widening concentric patterns to form a conical tree shape.

The slightest breeze in the room sets each individual section to rotating merrily at random.

Merry Christmas y'all.

Christmas tree mobiles are not really a new idea http://www.allmoder...-f091a-FMS1108.html
Here is one such; I've seen other that are just baubles and stars.

Adding lights, that may be new, but you're going to have trouble powering them without weighing it down impossibly. [DrCurry, Dec 26 2012]

Better shirley to implement the entire Christmas frippery as an overlay via VR goggles?
