It's all very well seeing a perp on your CCTV system but what you really need is the ability to mark them for later failsafe identification. On this system the camera has a paintball gun with an electric IP enabled trigger mounted aloft. The viewing screen has approriate crosshairs and when you see a transgressor you can zoom in, aim and fire. I have a horrible feeling this has already been done.

Nice, but probably a bad thing on what salaries security officers typically make.

How about embedding in the camera a sac of that pinky red dye they use to stain banknotes when a thief triggers the gubbins in the vault? If the camera is tampered with in any way, it explodes, or even if the camera detects a face from a national wanted-list database . Now there's a practical application for AI, no? Hopefully the camera doesn't get confused and paint a Jehovah's witness pink by mistake ...or hopefully it does.
