This is a roof design for a car that allows a quadcopter to take off and land easily in a chutte-cave ob the roof of the car. The quadcopter could be launched in traffic or when parking or when real-time navigational assistance is needed. The quad copter would have a camera that would send video to the dash/windshield of the car.

Needs IR/night vision - a must for mobile peeping toms. Just park up and go browse round bedroom windows ...

Auto-return and land on low battery detect would be very useful.

Controls and monitor visible/operable only from the passenger seat.

I'll be running over crushed copter pieces all day long...

Or would that be car-ette? (Link)

(+) but I can see these things hanging from power lines all over town... also many over-pass cyclists spazzing into traffic trying to dodge the odd motorized bullwhip.

Other than that it should come standard.

My first thought was that quadcopters are so slow one would have a hard time making it back to the car if traffic speed increased, but I saw a video of one keeping up with a car at 80 km/hr.

Landing one in its "cave" at speed could be trouble, though. Perhaps the system could have a big catch- net?
