i wonder how long a car would last if i painted it with spray in bed liner/ it is tough.i wonder if you could tint the stuff to match existing paint and just paint the bottom half of your car to minimize rock chips and shopping card scrapes. i bet if i sprayed the bottom half of my suburban it wouldnt look much different than a modern SUV with all the plastic fender flairs and running boards etc...i bet i could do my dashboard too. even rip out my carpet and put it there too. ahh never having to worry about spilling coffee again. i think i'm going to the parts store right now!

yes it can be tinted, yes lots of people do the insides of jeeps so they can just be hosed out, yes there is a stone-guard product that you can use on the lower portions, yes it can be tinted. I have seen an entire 4x4 done in bedliner, will look for a photo.

ok- thanks for the links. i still think its a good idea, and i am doing it! i'm not going to pay someone to do it, i will do it myself. has anyone used the pep boys brand liquid bed liner? does it compare to the rhino coat?

you could never get keyed, people could never write "wash me" on your truck

just add plexyglass windows and you'd have the toughest truck around.

       +1!

Ripping out the carpets and spraying in the bed liner is a great idea. I've wanted to do that ever since I saw the commercial for Rhino. Then you could get waterproof seat covers. Instead of vacuuming, all you have to do is hose out the car. -Clearsurf

I have a friend who sprayed the inside floors, walls and headliner of a jeep in bed spray about a year ago. On a hot day the stuff still smells like plastic/new car strong enough to make you pass out.

on a serious note though, with modern corrosion resistant paints, scotchgaurd, and cup holders that fit all sizes of coffee cups, is all that bedliner really neccessary?

They are doing this in Texas.

Outstanding idea! This should be a dealer option on all cars. No more waxing, touch-ups are a snap.

I am going rip out carpets in my house, spray the entire interior with rhino coat and use the "home lift" scheme to raise one edge slightly. Then I can wash the inside with a hose and the wash water will drain out the low side. Then I can convert the place to a chimp sanctuary.
