Rubber ear mobile phone cover

This is an embarrassingly simple idea, as I can find no way to complicate it. I apologize.

A mobile phone cover which, from the back of the phone, resembles a human ear, hair (or not, according to style), and the upper part of the jawline. When in use, said phone gives the appearance of simply holding your empty hand up to the side of your head.

This enables an inversion of the usual situation, whereby the invention of Bluetooth headsets enabled completely insane people to talk to themselves in public without attracting attention. Instead, completely sane people can appear to be talking into a non-existent phone, and therefore appear mad.

I'm afraid that's all there is.

Your mother must be so proud.

Your father would probably be proud too, if you knew who he was ...

I have the paperwork, tracing my ancestry back through 37 generations of Buchanans. There's really very little doubt although, just to be sure, I have had all the family members who are either alive or buried in accessible graves genotyped.

Besides, the "Buchanan navel" is only known to exist in one bloodline, and is determined by a gene on the Y chromosome. We did wonder, for a long time, about the intercalary, but it turned out that he too had the Buchanan navel, just not in the place where we had been looking for it.

OK, which damned fools bunned this?

// I have the paperwork, tracing my ancestry back through 37 generations of Buchanans. //

This is known to us. The uncertainty lies in a narrow field, i.e. the person you call "Dad", various "Uncles", Colin Buchanan the Merino ram, who/whatever it is that's kept locked in that room in the South-South-West wing upper attic with the barred windows, and that curiously hirsute, short and stooping individual with the sloping forehead and astonishingly long arms that Sturton persistantly refers to as "Grandma Hermaphrodite" ...

You really shouldn't take Colin seriously - he may be the black sheep of the family, but he only does it for attention, you know.

That's baaaad, [MB]. The comment, I mean, not the idea.

The idea is clear and reasonable, and may actually turn out, at the quantum level, to be a fundamentally necessary reaction/response to rampant blueteeth.

I'm so sorry. It's been a bad day.

Grandad did our family tree, particularly the bit where the other clan had a remarkably fine set of our clan's heads. Cheers grandad.

I bunned, and I would like to donate to your kickstarter.

You know, it's that kind of support and enthusiasm that has gotten the world into this mess. But thank you.

Sorry it was baked. I loved the idea.

Well, I hate to nit-pick, but that Amazon product does not quite convey the impression of phonelessness I was hoping to create. As far as I can see from the picture, the head and hand of the man using it are simply much too small.
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 27 2015

As I understood the image, you get the whole thing, so that when you are using it, you appear to be holding a man, who in turn is holding a rubber ear with a phone in it.... so it's a sort of Droste effect. (if you don't know what that is, see Wolfram Mathematica Site for a very good explanation).

What happened at the 38th generation back?
pocmloc, Nov 27 2015

We don't talk about it. And nice people don't ask.
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 27 2015

No-one's talking here, everyone is typing. So spill the beans!
pocmloc, Nov 27 2015

I will say no more than to suggest you examine John Komnenos the Fat, also known as John Bochranon, also known (during the lattermost stages of his existence) as John the Beheaded.
MaxwellBuchanan, Nov 27 2015

Oh, give it a rest ... yadda, yadda, yadda, born to the purple, direct line to Augustus Caesar ... yes, you've got the evidence, the latin inscriptions, the papyrii ... no-one's disputing it, alright ? Just stop flapping your family tree in everyone's face. It's not big, and it's not clever. So one of your ancestors had his own ziggurat. At the end of the day, it's just a big heap of mud brick, even if he was worshipped as a living god ...
8th of 7, Nov 27 2015

Yes, but what counted was that he was later worshipped as a dead god. The whole immortality thing is a lot harder to pull off than you appreciate.
