My sword would be a flashslashlight it would have very reflective surfaces and a capacitor fired flash bulb to blind the opponent.

Similarly, you could also add LEDs at the tip of each quillion, similarly aimed, and with any luck mesmerize your opponent.

Or just mount one broader-beam LED on the creuzen, with a reflector on the lambstongue.

Consider this: the HI-LED on one side of the blade, and a laser pointer on the other. Imagine, you're a ninja stalking your prey in the dead of night. You position yourself ahead of him, perched on a tree branch or low rooftop. He's nervous... he knows he's being followed. A chill wind blows, and he frantically looks back over his shoulder. Seeing nothing to fear behind him, he turns back around... and freezes. He sees a distinctive red dot on his lapel. He looks up and stares you dead in the eye. His hand fumbles at his holster, and suddenly he sees nothing but a terrible glare of blinding white light. You grin, and move in for the kill.

... and fall out of the tree.

I told you, it wasn't a fall! It was an unplanned jump.
