So while I shop for food every week, most items like
bagels, rolls and other packaged goods always seem to
come in a six pack or one dozen. I have seen four packs
of
yogurt, pudding and other different items. I am
suggesting
a five pack (which I have not seen but welcome any links
for enlightenment)
except for the Wisconsin beer five
pack
(see link) .
This would tidy up the week by not having an extra roll
that wasn’t being used over the weekend and possibly
going stale. I think this could be used for all kinds of
food,
not just baked goods, but that is one that has a definite
shelflife. Some foods like bananas, you can just pick five
and that would be great, but when they come already
packaged up it’s hard to figure out how many to buy.
Especially these days where food pricces have
skyrocketed and we need to watch our budget.
I think consumers would enjoy a standardized five pack.

You could buy a 4 pack, and then carefully slice each item up into fifths, and then have four of the slices each day. |

If you were cunning you could cut 1/5 off each item, and then you would have only one day when you had to eat little pieces. |

I mean my weekend and weekday diets are very different.
So maybe offer every discreet product in both two packs and
five packs, so you can get your weekend or weekday supply,
or both. |

I think this is a bit much to ask. Dozens/ half dozens have
been around for a long long time. 12 inches in a foot, 12
hours a day, 12 lunar cycles a year. 6 & 12 divide much
better should you have friends/family to share with. No, I
think the thing to do is move to a 6 day week. |

That’s exactly my point. I blame this half-baked
idea on my boyfriend, because I have to make him
a sandwich Monday through Friday. I like to keep
the food fresh and the counter neat. That extra
roll doesn’t need to sit around until Monday
because it annoys me. I don’t see why people can’t
break the old-time habits.I don’t believe pricing
would be an issue because prices change all the
time. |

out evenly, at 1.5 or 2 weeks per pack. |

You see how much sense it makes? Basing things around 10 is
a misguided aberration pushed largely by the French. We got
lucky that they never tried to decimalize music. |

packs of five and then you still have one left over. I
