Start-up oil pump
Electric auxiliary oil pump to ensure oil pressure during first few revolutions
If most engine wear occurs during the first few revolutions after starting, how about an auxiliary electric oil pump that starts with the ignition, to ensure that there is oil pressure by the time the starter starts turning? It could run via a relay off the charge light on the dash. It would also be
quite possible to do as an aftermarket accessory.

Description (displayed with the short name and URL.)
||Fully baked idea for turbines. If required, it may be deployed for the engines.
||Baked? Yes. Good idea? Yes. Purchase at autozone? Yes.
||Completely possible with off the shelf parts. This would be great for protecting the cam shaft and other vital parts.
||Well baked, great for any 4-cycle engine.
||Already baked on many large backup generator engines.
||This is a Good Idea ... and is commercially available from
several sources including Cummins Engine dealers.
Extensively used on oil field equipment in Canada, etc.
Other related good idea: plug-in-the-wall crankcase oil
warmer in the dip stick, also commercially available.
