You know in some heavily moderated news pages, they still leave the original comments that was removed but put up a statement saying "This comment was removed by a moderator because it didn't abide by our community standards. Replies may also be deleted. For more detail see our FAQs."

This is irritating sometimes... because you really really want to see what kind of comment would deserve getting removed.

What if paying for a news subscription would allow you to view certain levels of removed comments. The highest paying amount would give you the ability to see everything (except for those that legally cannot be shown).

       For Reddit in particular, there are tools (e.g. ceddit) to view removed comments. You can also, with most mobile Reddit clients (but not the official one), save a removed comment and then view it in your account's saved section.
