Attach cameras everywhere so when Rice is thrown a pass, those with good reflexes or who have their preferences set right, will switch to rice as he's looking at the ball(hopefully) when he's going to catch. And then we watch him eat bricks when he hits a 300 lb linebacker. I won't elaborate, but imagine having that many possible possible perspectives, and if you have tivo, you'll be able to go back and watch from other perspectives, but that'd take a lot of memory on tivo's part. Just imagine.

Could we also have the power to shock the players we think are under-preforming?

I have a feeling this would look pretty disorienting, what with all the shifting p.o.v.'s.

They're staring to bake this sort of stuff on sports tv, though. I've seen baseball catcher's and race car driver's p.o.v's.

I've seen helmet-cam shots in American football before.

Yeah, they have helmet-cams on certain players.

The "me-too" (or "you-too") aspect of this idea only might come to pass when the camera and transmitter weigh next to nothing, cost next to nothing and can survive several hits from 300lb linebackers. You'd still need someone to carry each signal to your viewing location and then, some way to select the signal you wanted. Not impossible, but unlikely.

I'll advance this prediction, though: If the above takes place, you'll see a market for premium "mixes". That is, entrepreneurs will begin selling recordings of games, each with a different "flavor". Imagine a keepsake recording where every shot contains your favorite player(s)...

nratzan - bear in mind that the 'bakery is not American. It is International - nay - Intergalactic. Who is Rice? What team in what sport and position?

//so when Rice is thrown //

This is about weddings, right?

Jerry Rice is a receiver in football, he catches balls.
nratzan, Jun 09 2003

but it's not that I assumed the bakery was American... Jerry Rice plays for the The Olympic Mons of New Jamaica, Mars.
