You put on the display glasses, and your field of view is filled with… you. From a different angle.

By connecting to a battery and wireless receiver in a belt pack, your glasses can stream the video of any one of several cameras pre-positioned in the area. Put a few of them around your house, and switch between them as you walk from room to room. Perhaps get creative, and mount a wide-angle camera on a boom so it's positioned behind your back for the videogame style "third person view". Wish you were a little bit taller? Try the helmet mount. Or just hold one in each hand and pretend you're the Pale Man.

Advanced features include stereo streaming for 3D and proximity based automatic camera switching, with an option to superimpose multiple video streams with relative strengths determined according to the distance to each camera for a "cross-fade" effect.

so you want to be a peeping tom ... on yourself?

Well… I guess that's ONE application for it.

Isn't this enough of a 'me me me' culture already?
Phrontistery, Jun 01 2012

Au contraire. This would enable you, for perhaps the first time, to see things from a completely different point of view.

It's like a third-person perspective video game. If you could arrange for the camera to follow you, it might be a useful training tool, like for athletes, dancers, and physical therapy. You'd be able to watch your movements without the hindrance of a stationary mirror.

There's enough narcissism as it is.

//There's enough narcissism as it is.//. I agree that most people are too narcissist. But this idea could be about ME! [+]. A change of perspective could actually be good for some people - it might do them some good to see how other people see them.

Makes me think of an electronic Ceiling Cat...gives a new meaning to "third person shooter"
