Throw Arm Extension

throw harder, faster

The lightweight extension straps onto your forearm and by clenching and opening your hand, it can grip and release objects. More sophisticated than a spear-thrower (atlatl, woomera) or a sling, its battery backpack powered joint gives extra speed to every throw and allows it to fold against the arm for transport. After a week’s brain-muscle training you can be proficient in hurling accurate, high-speed missiles over long distances.

The throw arm extension can be used by soldiers to launch grenades or engage in hand to “hand” bayonet combat from farther away. Police can throw teargas canisters or softballs at rioting mobs far from their shower of cobblestones and flambé cocktails.

A multitude of ultra sports is possible with this lengthened arm, motorized or not. Private uses could include lofting tomatoes from the theater’s cheapest seats or paying for and grabbing a beer at a crowded bar before a round of long-distance darts.

Or, you could strap one of these to your arm. The fancier ones are motorized and can be outfitted with a magazine of several hundred sporting clays. [jurist, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004]

The non-motorized version sounds a bit like the *cesta* used by jai alai players.
