Virtual sculpting box

Input to CGI using hand position and xyz cameras

Instead of a mechanical sculpting input, one could input to a CGI program by mounting three (or four or six, or eight...hey, finally a use for that old tetrahedron) cameras to map the xyz axis inside a "sculptor's box" and, by using a program that determines hand position, deform CGI models. A transparent screen could be added that projects a view of the image being worked inside the box superimposed over the hands. Not tactile, but then, neither is drawing on a Wacom tablet. I believe there already is a kind of hand- position/gesture-recognition password software.

I would envision the model being mounted on something like a potter's wheel, so it could be turned to different angles.
