A deck of 100 cards each with a different morpheme on it, morphemes being the parts that make up words. Previxes, (blue cards) roots (green cards) and suffixes, (red cards).
Each player gets 10 cards per round and makes a word out of them. They can be silly, but have to be plausible. For each card
used in your made up word, you get one point. Or could get a point for each syllable.
So if for instance you get these cards:
Morphemes Used:
hyper- (Blue, Prefix, meaning: over, excessive)
geo (Green, Root, meaning: earth)
bio (Green, Root, meaning: life)
graph (Green, Root, meaning: write, draw)
-ic (Red, Suffix, meaning: relating to)
-ness (Red, Suffix, meaning: state of)
You might create the word: Hypergeobiographicness: 6 points with card number scoring, 9 if scoring syllables.
You'd need to plausibly explain what it means. Maybe it describes the state of being excessively focused on creating detailed maps or drawings (graph) that combine the Earths (geo) geological features with the distribution or history of life (bio) on it, often in an over-the-top or obsessive way.
The players go around the table describing their made up words and jot down their score before putting their cards in the discard pile and getting ten more till all 100 are used.
Did a quick search of made up word games, didn't see anything exactly like this. One in the link seems even dumber than this.
