"DNA Scrub Spray- Cops Can't Get Your DNA Sample Off Of Food Scraps" Ruse.

Boy do I have mixed feelings about this one.

DNA is the most amazing murderer catching tool since the fingerprint. Just caught another one using a pizza slice. I won't get into it but I know of other times this method was used.

So every murderer, rapist or child molester who got away with their crimes years ago is likely aware of this and specifically the new technique of DNA being taken from food scraps.

The ruse works like this: somebody buys this fake DNA erasing spray and you're aware of them spraying their food with it, you might want to keep an eye on them.

But here's why I've got mixed feelings about this, it gathers information on citizens that might not have done anything wrong, they're just nuts.

Big problem is, although you might get some murderers on your watch list, you'll probably also get some nutjobs who think their DNA is being used to make lizard people clones of them, which as far as I know isn't a thing. Now you've got innocent people on a watch list.

And the idea that I'd support ANY kind of "watch list" is kind of creeping me out.

Dunno, but if it might help find some murderers could be worth the tactic. Kinda torn on this one.

Well, a dragnet is a network of measures for apprehension of criminals. Nothing wrong with that.

You could say serving suspects food then gathering the scraps for a DNA test is a dragnet. No problem there.

I'm just amazed that we can extract DNA from food scraps. Remember when we needed at least a non degraded hair follicle?

       God I feel old.

If only we could get DNA off of plastic bags of coke eh?

       That service is secret.

       sshhhhhhhh...

Well, at least now we know why they’re called the "Secret Service”.
