When you're going through life (like you do), and an error occurs.. eg, you fall over, forget where you're going, divide something by zero etc, what happens ? Nothing. You just have to carry on and get over it. With a real life error trap, when an error occurs, you automatically end up in a universal error trapping room somewhere (to be decided) where you can take a breather, have a cup of tea, make any necessary corrections and then resume back to where you came from.

(no idea what category this should be in ....)

I always send an error report to Microsoft when these things happen. Just for the fun of it.

When you start dreaming about computers, you know there's a problem...

Got codes for 'Destroy your credit rating,' 'lose your passport,' or 'marry the wrong person?'

Am I too practical or does this seem unrealistic? Maybe I don't get it.

But you M-F-D'd my "Life Errors", which directly supported the eventual realization of this idea.

It is the responsibility of the Best Man to whisk the Bridegroom off to safety before i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

</true story> [ravenswood] - you forgot the closing tag, so everything posted after that is also a true story...

Hmm, yes it does sound a little bit unfeasible on the face of it... hows about if we extend the powers of the police force to enable them to whisk off *everyone* who makes a mistake to a corrective institution where their error would be handled (quickly in the case of minor errors, eg falling over and dividing by 0).

Not magic anymore, just highly impractical...

a padded room, maybe? ... from my experience, when you make an error severe enough, you'll get your tea, and breather, but you won't be release into society exactly "where you left off" ... and the cost of medications now a days ... I think they already exist just under the name "asylum" or "institution" ... or "nuthouse" ...
