Ah Culus!

Sort of the opposite of Oculus

Facebook just bought Oculus, a virtual reality company and Latin for eye, for 2 billion dollars. I have a proposal for them. Ah Culus!, a real reality company and Latin for Ah, Anus!, would be our portal back down here to the real world. Ah Culus is a band of merry pranksters who travel a world spanning circuit of Maker Faires and other similar real-space events events focusing on activities that bring us anus-first into the future. This would be the opposite of virtuality.

Human powered flapping flight will be the result of the 3D printing revolution, because eventually people will realize that the best goal for all of this is to adaptively smooth us into our surroundings. Virtual reality is going to yank us inside out through our eyes. Ah Culus! will turn us back right side out by being an ever-moving network of traveling makers focused on innovation around adaptive undulatory mobility. Ah Culus! will eventually root every human to their corresponding configuration of iron atoms at the center of the earth, through our anuses, rather than ripping us apart light- first, through our eyes.
