Horns formed of imitation ivory to fit the design or use of your car.
Some designs are utilitarian in nature such as Ram Horns to be mounted on big SUVs, some are for appearance such as Gazelle horns for sports cars, Antelope horns for small subcompacts, Narwhal tusks for Studebaker's, Stag Horns
for your VW, Musk OX or Rhino horns for Commercial Trucks. For the good old boys the Deer, Elk and Caribou are always popular. Police cruisers fitted with small boar tusks are also good for a laugh.
Now everyone can have car horns of their own.
Car Horns
http://www.nudiesro...ges/nudiecar10a.jpg Great for pedestrian traffic and Death Race 2000 fanatics. [skinflaps, Mar 20 2007]
I scanned a photo I took in New Orleans of *car with horns*

Why a car should never have horns
http://www.yourdail...er_Mess_With_A_Bull Sorry to be boring, but I've been run over by a car with bullbars already. [TheLightsAreOnBut, Mar 20 2007]
//6 fish bones and NOONE has posted a single reason why they don't like the idea or a suggestion on how to improve it??????//mebbe because its an echo...

Alternative title: Carwhal. |

[skinflaps] I was thinking a bit more integral to the design, not just stuck on the hood. IE in place of bumpers or brush guards etc. |
[xandram] Is that the Jax Brewery parking lot? |
[thelightsareonbut] I would think that horns on cars would certainly give jaywalkers something to think about. |
Ahh, the age old argument, which came first, the pedestrian or the motor car? |
[johm], I was cycling. We don't jaywalk here in the UK, or even moonwalk. It's perverse. |
The jaguar on jaguars and the winged wotsit on RollsRoyces certainly used to give people something to think about before they were banned, such as "isn't this an inspiring sculpture projecting into my intestines" |
[nomo] We were walking to the downtown area but kind of the back way, so I really don't know. |
There should also be car tusks. |
Why not? they've already got trunks. |

6 fish bones and NOONE has posted a single reason why they don't like the idea or a suggestion on how to improve it?????? |

This is most assuredly not an Echo of that idea(I actually never looked at that idea till just now) This was more a play on words and came to mind after having watched the movie "Cars" with my son and the Card Board Box idea. |
The 2 ideas really have little in common other than having horns involved in some way. This idea is about designing cars with horns to reflect their "personalities" or functions. |
Why do people make assumptions about where an idea came from without asking? |
I see that, though I really was thinking more along the lines of the aesthetic rather than functional aspects and most certainly not along the lines of the running of the bulls type gamut for pedestrians(though I did make a crack about that above i was not reading it as a serious objection to the idea). It was more an idea to give cars some personality like the Studebaker as a narwhal and the stag horn beetle, etc. |
We have certainly become overly obsessed of late with the extreme practicality of ideas and we seem to really be missing the fun factor behind these ideas that are obviously silly in their intent. |
I thought it would be abundantly clear that this idea was not seriously advocating the installation of horns on the bodies of cars but rather was a bit of sillyness with some funny mental images of what this might look like on the road. |
I mean seriously who would really want to have a Studebaker with a 10 foot unicorn horn sticking out of the nose(I spose it would work on a Tucker as well)? |
I think your fishbones have arisen from the fact that we've all seen horns on cars before. Making them different types doesn't really cut it as a new idea, despite the interesting image. [neutral] |

What [theleopard] said - didn't Boss Hogg's 1970 Cadillac De Ville convertible from "The Dukes of Hazard" have great big horns mounted on the front? |
I like the Narwhal variant - that might have stood up as an idea on its own. |
Making them out of Styrofoam might offer some possibilities in the realms of jousting, prodding other cars (for various reasons), or as 'automatic' parking/braking distance sensors. Narwhal horns might make good alternative radio aerials. |
yes, what [theleopard] said, I didn't fishbone, but it's not that original. Now maybe a car that *IS* a giant horn with wheels on it... |
//Now maybe a car that *IS* a giant horn // |
Sounds like something from the Flintstones... |
Sounds like it's going to be big for all the sports fans in Texas. Go Longhorns! |
I had a set or antlers mounted on my old truck for about a year or so, but then a guy managed to stab one of the points between his fingers, so I took them off. |
But I'm going to bun this idea based on the fact that somone else made a reference to Deathrace 2000. |
