I like this idea, only I think it should be run by the government.

Who wouldn't have occasion to use Father Fishbone, the halfbakery confessional? Father fishbone is an hb moniker which doesn't need a password, under which any 'baker can post confessions of halfbaked vendettas and misdemeanors.

Amen.

[+] I think. Except that I would not make it "password free". Instead, I would make it accept any valid halfbaker's password - this would prevent random people from strolling in an using it.

Good plan. Although having an account on the halfbakery hardly procludes you from being 'random', in my experience.
Fishrat, Jan 14 2008

I'm trying to figure out if "procludes" is the opposite of "precludes" and, if so, whether I agree....
MaxwellBuchanan, Jan 14 2008

Yes, yes. What this site needs is more talk about vendettas and misdemeanors and other social chitchat. Because the troll that does that in a new account every two months just somehow isn't disruptive and idiotic enough.

Forgive me father, for I have roused jutta.

I agree that having an anonymous 'baker posting amok through the place would be annoying and distracting (and confusing, as s/he might often appear to be arguing with him/herself). However, I don't see why this idea should be a cardinal sin if Father Fishbone's comments could be limited to one place?

But then, I'm not a moderator, and I don't have to deal with that crap, so fair play to you.

Isn't the plural "vendettae"? But point taken.
MaxwellBuchanan, Jan 14 2008

Ha! [MaxwellBuchanan] belongs to the heathen who think that the plural of "vendetta" is "vendettae"! We true believers shall hunt him down and persecute him, yea, even unto the tenth generation!
hippo, Jan 15 2008

We are all for hunting down and persecuting, we have the tar and feathers and the firewood for the burning .... what's he supposed to have done ? Never mind, burn him anyway.......

Vendettas? Misdemeanors?! I think this was the Happy Cuddle Club, and everyone got along just fine!

Oh, wait, UnaBubba came back. Maybe you're right...

"Forgive me father for I have sinned the sin of agitating incalcitrant newbies, and agressively persecuting trolls and halfwits."
"Did you lambaste posts with no spacing or punctuation?"
"No"
"Did you, did you, {mark-for-deletion} <eight how's your father's, eleven mary's suitably laced> an idea based on some movie or video game reference?"
"No, but thanks for the leads!"
