At least one of the elevators in each building should be an elevatetris, where coming to the desired floor requires playing Tetris to remove virtual rows that obstruct the elevator's block.

Besides the usual floor buttons, the elevatetris would be equipped with a screen and keypad to enable the occupant(s) to rotate and move sideways the dropping blocks. Tetris music would play, and the elevator car would shift horizontally, slightly to simulate any sideways movement of its own one-square block. The car's floor level would always be matched by its vertical position on the screen.

Upon entering the car, one chooses the floor, and then must move and eliminate the dropping, random blocks that would otherwise hinder the elevator block. After a while the elevator block becomes activated and its highlighted block can be steered sideways to come to the next desired floor. It may become temporarily stuck above that floor and have to wait for subsequent blocks to free it.

The elevatetris would travel and be played going up (rising blocks), as well as down. With poor players or no occupants, the screen would fill up with blocks causing game over. The screen would then be cleared and the car would proceed to the next floor, in the same direction, where someone signaled for an elevator. Coming to the bottom or top floor or when there are no more waiting to board in the same direction, the elevatetris would change direction and clear the screen.

Frustrated players could always exit at another floor and change to a conventional elevator.
