Ever wake up for work or for an important meeting and realize you're in dire need of a haircut because it's so mussed up you can't possibly fix it in time? Swing by your local Git 'er Done Barbershop any time, day or night, where they will provide you a clean-looking, presentable haircut in 10 minutes or less. It won't be fancy, it might not be entirely pain free, and you won't get gel with that. But it'll be neat and presentable and you won't be late to work.

did you ever see this guy on The History Channel...he could use this. http://1.bp.blogspo...Bq1qehntzo1_500.jpg

I would think that you'd need gel with that since the problem is bed-head, but [+] for a 24hr bb shop.

No. Ever heard of an electric trimmer? You can pick one up at Wallyworld for about thirty bucks. They come with little plastic spacer doohickeys that let you give yourself a buzzcut in about two minutes. With a bit of practice you can even do the back without using a hand mirror. Don't they teach these things in the Air Force anymore? No wonder you guys are such codependent rear-echelon pussies, if you can't even give yourselves a haircut.
Alterother, May 10 2013

Well I suppose the shop could offer a quick down-and- dirty gel & comb job.

@ Alterother, I HAVE one of those trimmers. This is for folks who don't have one, and wake up one morning lamenting their lack of such a basic necessity.

//a buzzcut in about two minutes.// The thing is, if a buzzcut acceptable, you probably don't have an important meeting.
MaxwellBuchanan, May 10 2013

Right. And the idea is to have a professional who can do it quickly AND not leave unsightly tufts that'll pop back up later. A 2 minute self-done buzzcut is (generally) pretty easy to identify.

       @MB Ha!

Whereas my haircut is old enough to be a postgrad, i agree that clippers are the answer in such a situation.

I'm sorry. Not about the deliberate trolling, I stand by that; I apologize for my ignorance. I guess this if one of those things to which we heathens cannot relate.
Alterother, May 10 2013

I dunno, given today's man fashions, just grab a razor and take it all off.
normzone, May 10 2013

Bedhead is a look. Just own it, everybody will assume that's what you were going for, and admire you secretly.

Those can be annoying, best to wash the hair, then do those bits again.

I noticed and appreciate your correct spelling of 'whisky'.

Sorry 21 this time I'm against. I find the 24 hr trend something that causes more poor people to work at horrible hours at a bad job, and then look like airport workers with "fluorescent skin" and "put out" eyes, so that someone else, with a somewhat better job, but still not a great one, cause they are also awake late, can get a haircut at crazy hours.

I'm certain there are a lot of unemployed folks and college students with no free time during the day who would love the opportunity.
21 Quest, May 12 2013

When I was in welding college I worked the overnight shift at a 7-11 (where I was rapidly promoted to night manager). Went to school 5 days a week and worked six nights a week. I elected summer courses to expedite my education. After 14 months of this I had to quit my job and move back in with my parents because my mother had discovered my alchoholism and budding addiction to sleeping pills. // unemployed folks and college students with no free time during the day // may wish to learn from that example.

//After 14 months of this I had to quit my job and move back in with my parents because my mother had discovered my alchoholism and budding addiction to sleeping pills.// Most college students who get a job working the overnight shift quit after 2 weeks in my experience. I'm one of the rare people who enjoy working at night but I don't see how it's possible to get less than 6 hours of sleep a day for an extended period and not die (there have been studies).
DIYMatt, May 12 2013

Napoleon, when asked what he feels is the proper amount of sleep, said 6 for a man, 7 for a woman, 8 for a fool. Margaret Thatcher is said to have run on 4. I work five 12 hour shifts per week, and I typically get 5-6 hours of sleep per night.
21 Quest, May 12 2013

I am, amongst other things, a periodic insomniac, and can function indefinitely on 5-6 hours per day taken in 1-2 hour naps; when I say function, I mean 'remain conscious and perform simple tasks'. Without regular sleep of 7-8 hours I am miserable and prone to lash out.
Alterother, May 12 2013

I run 5 days a week on 5-6 hours of sleep, all in a lump sum at night. I catch up on my days off, when I sleep, depending on my luck, from 8-11 hours. My sunny, gregarious disposition seems completely unaffected during the week.

greatclips is open until nine and putting your name on the wait list via the web means that wit times are usually 5 minutes or less.
bob, May 12 2013

Alas, if there were only a similar system for getting some shuteye.

I don't seem to be able to sleep-in much any more.
I find myself both missing sleep, and resenting its necessity.

Go to local barber school, explain situation, offer a big tip.

Any meeting that turns on haircut quality,....

Barber schools don't have business hours where you're from?
