Insurance for Beer

A levy on the cost of each beer to insure it against accidental spillage

Spilling someone elses beer in a crowded pub or bar is like asking for a fight, this tension could be defused if each beer bought was insured. If someone accidentally bumps you and you spill your beer there is no need to "take it outside" instead you go to the bar for a replacement. There would need to be some kind of honour system or witness statement but assuming that only 1 in 20 or 30 beers is split this way it would only add small amount to the cost of a beer and reduce the incidence of agro and the number of bouncers needed.

Bud scores 1 out of possible 10. This is awful. I'd compare it to water, but that's not fair to water. Water is drinkable. [thumbwax]

by The Knife. Not the same even though the titles of both ideas contain the word "beer" and the word "insurance." Staggering. [my face your, Oct 04 2004]

What kind of beer are we talking about? I mean, if it's Budweiser - the one who knocked it over should be given a ton of lobster. That's what DrCurry got, anyway.

Its debatable whether budweiser is really beer.

Yes, but with the copious amounts of beer some people drink (I'm a whiskey man myself), those small costs add up! And you'd be suprised by the other kinds of excuses alcomohol filled people can come up with for punch-ons. Or maybe you wouldn't.
