Mirrings

"Earrings" for your car's side-view mirrors.

For those drivers who enjoy personalizing the appearance of their cars, I have conceived a new fashion item: Mirrings.

They would come in a wide variety of styles, shapes, and colors, just like people-earrings do, but are specifically designed auto accessories that would attach to the side-view mirrors, which, (to me at least), kinda resemble ears when personifying automobiles.

Don't headlights look like eyes, too? I bet someone would buy stuff that helps people see the car's "face", especially if they are into the Mirrings. Eyebrows above and irises on headlights. Mustaches for the grill area... If I make any more parallels, I may come up with far too much. It's beginning to resemble a Mr. Potato Car.

nice. I have been meaning to do *evil eyes* for car headlights for a year or more.

I dunno, I’ve had wind chimes hanging from mine for years. My SO says they’re distracting--they could cause an accident he says. And he’s always pointing to my driving record, like that’s supposed to mean something. The world is full of lunatics, wanting to smash my car, and he points to me, saying it’s my fault. Well, if people would wait just a minute after the light turned green, instead of rushing off through the intersection like their hair’s on fire, then there’d be a lot less damage all around. That’s what I tell him.

Yes, but what do you think about the Mirrings?
XSarenkaX, Oct 10 2003

       Oh, lovely.

Nice. Not on my cars, but nice. +

I am going out to get my mirrors pierced today, ready for them! What would they be made of? Have to be something that would not swing out and hit pedestrians. (in case my wife's driving). Update - What if one falls off? Could I be saying the wrong thing?

I'm going to stretch out the piercing-holes in my wing mirrors, and fit ever-larger hoops, Amazonian tribesman-style.

You are all very creative. Yes, other piercings and chains and hoops... I can easily see this idea inspire all sorts of personalized stuff. "Tattoos" on cars (graphics) may even more closely resemble those of their drivers/owners.

Would this then make those little stick on convex mirrors, miring aids?

Objects in mirror are closer than they sound.

Little dangles twirling in the breeze as I cruise the highway. What a clever little notion, [XSarenkaX]. +

i love the mr. potato head idea...but although the mirrings sound lovely it seems i see cars with pretty stuff dangling all the time...i don't know, maybe it's a california thing where you get blinded by people's crystals when they catch the sun just right.

If bottled water and fingernail fashion salons can become million (billion?) dollar industries, why not mirrings. I think you've hit on something big!

Today, just about everything can be customized to a person's fashion style, so cars will just be another in a long line of fashion items available nowadays.

       Anyway, +.
