Nasty Taste: For Pens and Pencils

Tired of people putting pens and pencils in their mouths?
  [vote for,

Possible Solution: Before pens and pencils leave the manufactures they are sprayed lightly with a liquid that taste foul and nasty. Hopefully this will keep them out of their mouths so they will quit eating them. Maybe have a liquid you can buy just in case the nastiness wears off.

No doubt this solution would be as effective on pens and pencils as it is on thumbs and fingernails. [jurist, Oct 04 2004]

Why are we trying to police whether people chew pens? It's not like they're addictive or anything.

Seems to me the opposite should be done, i.e., make them taste nice. But we have tackled that one already.

Wouldn't you be at risk for Salmonella if you spray chicken liquids on a pen? I would think that the nausea, vomiting and diarrhea would cure you of chewing your pencils for good.
