"The Cloud" is just somebody else's computer that you can't go and kick when it inevitably falls over. The traditional method of making a computer functional again is called Percussive Maintenance. Therein lies the problem: users of cloud services can't maintain their own servers.
My solution is to
have a remote-controlled boot, connected to the Internet via a separate connection, that users can take control of remotely, guide to their server, and give it a swift kick.
Or I suppose you could give them a pokey stick for hitting power buttons instead.

The traditional method for repairing a malfunctioning television was always to pound it with a clenched fist, but any remotely controlled impact delivery system is approved. Can the deluxe option offer some kind of haptic interconnectivity? ie you put on a special digitally aware boot and kick a cardboard box around in the privacy of your own home - have this crumb - mine are worth double everyone else's - (note* I am the only person on the HB able to award double croissants!) |
