Replace "light" with "sausages" and this may work...

Remote controlled boot in datacentres

Percussive maintenance on demand

"The Cloud" is just somebody else's computer that you can't go and kick when it inevitably falls over. The traditional method of making a computer functional again is called Percussive Maintenance. Therein lies the problem: users of cloud services can't maintain their own servers.

My solution is to have a remote-controlled boot, connected to the Internet via a separate connection, that users can take control of remotely, guide to their server, and give it a swift kick.

Or I suppose you could give them a pokey stick for hitting power buttons instead.

       Gives new meaning to "reboot".

Should absolutely be included in your cloudy service.

I for one welcome this new Internet of Bovver ...

       Ouch. I said I welcome ... ouch!

       I will allow it.

       ...for now.

The traditional method for repairing a malfunctioning television was always to pound it with a clenched fist, but any remotely controlled impact delivery system is approved. Can the deluxe option offer some kind of haptic interconnectivity? ie you put on a special digitally aware boot and kick a cardboard box around in the privacy of your own home - have this crumb - mine are worth double everyone else's - (note* I am the only person on the HB able to award double croissants!)

We now know that any idea with fewer than two votes in a particular direction, you haven't voted on. We can also tell those with fewer than two in a given direction, you didn't vote in that direction if you voted.

Sometimes I use my double vote, but sometimes I just use the single one. It depends on my mood - like I might decide to feed someone to the dogs, or I might decide to feed them toasted marmite sandwiches.
