||Having done both jobs it seems to me that only in certain cases will the result be satisfactory. A janitor cleaning the bathrooms will not quickly notice the cash register leaving the building. A security guard in uniform emptying waste baskets might scare the staff
thinking "he's looking for drugs".
A security guard checking for id can't leave to do other tasks.
