The rider's side profile is narrower and more streamlined and thus were the rider to sit side-saddle, would then
achieve the greatest speed. Naturally the peddles and gearings would have to be at 90 degrees to the bike frame and a 45 degree mirror would need to be fitted to the rider's helmet to afford a forward view of the road ahead to avoid accidents.
