Half a croissant, on a plate, with a sign in front of it saying '50c'

This would work fine, except in terms of success.

Skillet or Pot that Walks

It should also talk to the hob.

I was going to go with three legs, but four would give it more stability while walking.

The bendy knees would allow it to lift itself off the hob when it's getting too hot. "Too hot" might be indicated when a hygrometer told the pot that it's boiled dry, or some other sensor noticed a coating of amorphous carbon starting to cling to the bottom.

I'm pretty sure existing robotics can do all this. The main challenge might be to shield the brain from excessive heat.

       It's a good thing I have a hat.

I'm sure we have done the pot that lifts itself from the heat on here before, but I am not finding it. Or maybe t was in real life (I think it was on here). There was some kind of heat sensitive bimetallic mechanism that cranked the legs downwards so as the pot got hotter it raised itself incrementally from the hob.

True; it seems like the sort of thing we would have done before: maybe the previous version was lost with a deleted account.

You talk the talk but can you wok the wok.

I have been chased around the kitchen with a skillet but always with a female human on the handle. Being chased by the skillet alone is kind of scarier.

//the skillet alone is kind of scarier//

A lot less fun certainly but I don't see why either would be scary.

Only if it walks just when you want it to, otherwise the scurrying about the house at all hours would be quite annoying.

It’s a matter of agency and responsibility. I had a pretty good idea why she was trying to flatten my brain pan, but being chased by the skillet alone you never know what you did to offend it.

That time with the skillet she was not naked. The time she chased me with the carving knife she was. Hard to choose between danger and arousal, or are they inextricably linked?

Sharp and pointy is probably around where danger takes definite precedence over arousal for me, I think you'd probably need to be an evolved preying mantis of some sort to feel any real conflict of interests on that one .. so, what are things like on your home planet, and how'd you get here ;)
