My sister is walks really fast, and she's always stubbing her toes on the furniture. A pair of steel-toed slippers for wearing around the house would solve this problem. The slippers would also need to have a cushiony coating on the outside to prevent dents in the furniture.

Alternatively, tie a piece of elastic between her slippers (ever have those mittens?) - this will prevent her from striding about the place, and reduce her speed to one at which furniture is more easily evaded.

I'm thinking a pair of contact lenses might help.

They get cold in the winter, too. Slippers are supposed to keep your feet warm.
