Toolbra

Like a toolbelt, but not.

Made of thick leather, the Toolbra is the latest in construction equipment for working women. Designed for warm summer months, the Toolbra incorporates reinforced pockets for nails and bolts, open pockets for various tools, and a hammer loop at the middle of the back strap for quick-draw action.

Can I get a woman's opinion here? I'm not qualified to vote on this...
phoenix, Dec 31 2003

I could use this, no problem! as long as I don't have to yodel - pleeese no yodelling!
po, Dec 31 2003

Do construction workers yodel in England? Seems much nicer than what they do here.
Worldgineer, Dec 31 2003

       only at christmas..

       Must be surreal.

Must be in B minor. Tool Rack would also have been an acceptable name ...

If it's good with [po], it's great with me. Does one still get the proper lift and separation? Does one worry about such things anymore?

Gets a bun from me if it can still have a rose in the middle. In a rugged kinda way, of course. (+)

Are those drywall screws in your bra, or is it just cold in here?

Every mans dream.A woman with tools.
python, Jan 03 2004

A woman with a "tool" sounds like a transexual to me ;)
Pericles, Jan 03 2004

The pile of buns on this idea gives me the impression that the halfbakery is populated with pubescent boys. Thick leather would hold perspiration in against the skin. In summer months this would be so uncomfortable that women construction workers would be ripping off their smarmy Toolbras by mid afternoon.
Laughs Last, Jan 03 2004

not if thats all we are wearing, I can assure you.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Although the "hot construction chick" exists only in the mind's eye, so maybe it would be bad.
latka, Jan 03 2004

Not so. The hot construction chick is more than fantasy. I saw her once but all I have to show for it is this plaster cast I took of the stiletto heel imprints on my back.

Would this product be sold in the lingerie section of the hardware store, or in the home improvement section of Victoria's Secret? (WTAGIPBAN)
krelnik, Jan 04 2004

[hi entropy], while wearing this bra you would find >your< first day as a female construction worker arduous at best...

This would be like hauling bricks in a cargo carrier on the roof of an SUV!

Hows about a compromise? I'm thinking Swiss Army belly chains or something. Or, to sate your fetish for gadget racks, how 'bout bra tops with teensy line levels over the nipples? If you add polarizing filters over the view windows and align the filters (horizontally?) then >you< could know when you've had one too many beers...

Likewise, for your own amusement you could manufacture zipper pulls with magnetometers or jean flies with 3-axis orientation sensors. Anyway--why would you want to deny women construction workers that same full upper body bronzing? Hmm?
Tiger Lily, Jan 05 2004

       She's got a point.

       ...or two.
Tiger Lily, Jan 05 2004

[Laughs] I never said it would have to be worn against the bare skin. Normal bras can be worn underneath for comfort and sweat collection.

The point here is to make use of the two sets of curves on the woman body versus the one set of curves (hips) on the man's. Of course the toolbra can be used in conjunction with a toolbelt, giving women twice the carrying capacity of their inferior male construction worker counterparts.
hi entropy, Jan 06 2004

If carrying tools in the chest area were practical, tool belts (currently warn by men and women incidently) would already be designed that way. Frankly I'm carrying enough up there already thanks and prefer the things I'm reaching for to be within reach of where my hands are. And by the way hi entropy, the only guys I've seen with curvey hips were just plain fat and likely not construction workers.
mack2, Jan 06 2004

As a female who occasionally wields tools, I find the idea enticing yet impractical. I don't think it could hold much hardware, and if it did it would swing in awkward ways. However what the NailGun Bra, correlating with the obvious, um, anatomy (a la femmbots)?
jennb, Jan 06 2004

       [jennb] ... you're approaching fetish speed ...
Letsbuildafort, Jan 06 2004

I think [jennb]'s right - the attached tools would have too much swing making things somewhat awkward. Not to mention bruise-inducing when you get whacked in the ribs by a hammer dangling from your d-cups.
hazel, Jan 06 2004

thick leather = thick seams + rivets

Not fun for boobies, construction worker or no. I get what you're going for, but practicality demands I give you a bone. (-)
k_sra, Jan 06 2004

practicality, shmackticality! If there's one thing we need more of, it's more (slightly sweaty and besmudged - after a long day's toiling) female construction workers clad in leather bras!

       <ahem>
