Like the simulator for sky-diving, this kitchen countertop appliance suspends cooking food in a vertical column of hot air in a clear cylinder at eye level. Grates keep the food within vertical limits you set. Temp, weight, air speed and time are all sensed or user input.
In addition to heat, water
or seasoning vapors can be injected into the air stream. to season or smoke the food. Choose recirculating or fresh air. Optional cooling is available.
Baking can be done in net bags or space-frame muffin tins.
Boiling/steaming is done with the continuous injection of water vapor. Mmmm!
When done to perfection the tray is removed from the side. I realize that this appliance may create certain hazards, but certainly no more than a deep fryer.
And think of the visuals! Roasting, dancing peppers and onions! Flyin wings! A fried rice-fall! Panko pork chops jousting weightlessly!

Perhaps if the column was more of a conic section the food would be easier to balance on the airstream.
Maybe then also, more than one item could be cooked at once. |

A bit like the popcorn popper but for other foods. Even cooking with no stirring, be kind of fun to watch, I like it. [+] |

Like [sanman]s Tumble Cooker this can be scaled from the countertop version for 4 portions to levitate hundreds of tater tots or Pop Tart-like foods (think pasteles or hand-pies) simultaneously. Same for sausages and sturdy veggies. |

Makes an engaging sidewalk attraction, with benefits. |

Beside the column is a squatting sumo wrestler about the size of a garden gnome. The hose emerging from the back of his loincloth is not really connected to anything (just a dead end under the counter-top), but his extended index finger is a switch which causes the fan to create a brief extra gust of up-draught. |

Won't somebody think of the children? |
