I was looking at that chain reaction example with the mouse traps and table tennis balls, the forces and directions of which can all be described. The mousetrap and loaded ball subunit could be arranged in different orientations in the box. Even stacked on edge. Different colours could be used to accentuated areas of the fast action release. It would be like if dominoes could explode.

It would be easy to design a domino with two halves with a powerful spring between. When pressed together the halves connect with a hair catch that can be released on being knocked by another domino.

This dominite would give another imagination dimension to falling dominoes. Just be even more sensitive when setting them up.

Could you provide a link to these ping pong balls and mouse traps?

Thanks [Vernon], Nice look forward. Spacing to spring energy would be quite important.

Am I allowed to call [marked-for-tagline] on something that was only linked to, rather than posted?

The idea is the spring releasing domino halves. Prior art table tennis ball traps. I must not have written this correctly.

Domino runs have a 100% workability (+/-placement error), this idea would be for a domino engineer whom knows failure can give some rare spectacular results.

Nice [2 fries..meal], It's release would trigger a domino fall but I'm not sure a domino could simply do the reverse. Though, if the construction was not purely dominoes, anything goes.

A dominite would, for all but intensive purposes, look exactly like a domino.

perhaps dominos and mousetrap balls with energy-space variation as [wjt] describes could be used in some standard way to make rulesets and seeds for automata, like non- turning cellular automata (some of which look like cross- reactive dendritic trees).

This makes me think 3-D packed (multilevel, but why have levels) Computer models of processes, especially chemical processes, among them petroleum refining processes.
