A material that molds to the old floor to cover ugly bad carpet
This idea stems from renting a house with 3" green shag carpet in the living room. I was thinking it would be nice if I could roll out large strips of a stylish material and go over it with a blow dryer and have it mold over the ugly green carpet creating a new flooring. You could continue molding your
sections until you had a new, clean surface that would last a decent amount of time, be easy to clean, and be easily removed and replaced when necessary.

||It seems ironic that this stuff is designed to go over 3 shag carpeting, but then has to be removed and replaced.
||<every girl's nightmare> An ugly 3" shag, lying on the floor. </egn>
||Since you've already called this carpet melt, you could try ironing the whole floor. You may want to borrow a respirator from your local fire department first though.
