microbe wars

like robot wars/ gladiators but with antibiotic resistant microbes
  [vote for,

The antibiotic resistant microbes battle to the death with other microbes in televised encounters in petri-dishes. A jokey, tongue- in- cheek commentator narrates, fills in during occasional lulls in the action. Meanwhile new antibiotics evolve. Hopefully

I recently saw a talk by the leader of this group, it was really fun. [Loris, Apr 10 2017]

Well, there are all kinds of interesting dynamics between bacterial colonies. But to follow them, you'd really want to be point-sampling and sequencing to see which bugs had recently evolved a better resistance gene, or how their quorum sensing apparatus* has adapted.

(*no, I didn't make that up.)
