what if you played with floating playing cards on a pools surface. it would obviously be water proof, but the point is that you can play cards with freinds in ths shallow part of the pool.

Given that waterproof cards are Widely Baked, is this really a new idea?
DrCurry, Jul 14 2005

this idea is new, at least to me, because they are meant to float, not just be water proof. i tired that link, it didn't work for me. (my computer sucks) Also, you don't play on a tray, you play on the pool's surface.

I was under the impression that laminated paper would float. Trying to keep a pile of cards from falling would probably be difficult.

Heh, I guess you wouldn't Have to light 'em. [link] (click on floating cards)

I like the implication of someone's floating chips gently riding the waves towards my stack.

How do you keep them still? They may stay on the water surface but they'll drift all over the place.

       Don't pee in the water.

R u stupid? if they float away, then grab them back. the idea is to play in the water, and not be affraid to drop them or deal them like cards on a table. (it would suck if you had to hand them out to each player one at a time)

It would allow for a whole new way of cheating...

       -dbmag9, Jul 17 2005

Maybe you could anchor them somwhow?
dbmag9, Jul 17 2005

1:50 scale outboard engines that clip on the edge of the cards.

       // R u stupid? //

You can't spell a three letter word and you ask me if I'm stupid?

Why would someone want to play cards that they keep having to grab and put back where they should be? The act of moving to grab them will create more water turbulence and exacerbate the problem.

It's like playing Scrabble with floating tiles. Your response is... if they move, just put them back? Putting them back becomes the only activity of the game.

       Not well thought-out.
waugsqueke, Jul 17 2005

I dunno, sounds like most pool games: messy and wet - some people like that kind of thing.
DrCurry, Jul 17 2005

A floating card game, eh. And not a pun?
