Shoes -

There’s nothing like a pair of killer heels to make you feel like a dog with two tails as you strut your stuff across a bar/club/restaurant, but as every Imedla Marcos wannabee knows, one or seven Chardonnay’s later, you’re begging for a pair a flip flops and a bunion plaster. So here’s the deal: inflatable heels. You set of with a mild inflation - 1 to 2 inches rising to a respectable four or five when you reach your function. As your juice intake rises you my wish to deflate by a quarter of an inch each hour (or maybe half an inch every pint), unless of course you get to unexpectedly quickly to the staggering stage where by immediate deflating is recommend to avoid embarrassment and altitude induced sickness. All being well, previous spewing incidents not withstanding, come closing time, you go down to a comfortable 1 inch inflation and walk home thus saving taxi fares, embarrassment and a costly visit to the chiropodist.

I'm with StarChaser in that the idea's title is rather ambiguous. Something along the lines of "inflatable high-heels" would me more palatable for most HalfBakers.

As for the idea: I'm not sure these shoes would be as easy to operate as you think. One would have to carry an air compressor in one's handbag, as I don't think they make them small enough to comfortable place in shoes, yet. Also, you may want to go with a liquid instead of air, as gasses compress. On the other hand, it might add a little spring to your step.

High-heels? Inflatable? I think that... No. I believe that... "Stockings", did you say? Well, then I'm *sure* that...uh. I'll just be logging out now.

Of course the other method is simply not to play the game if you don't want to. The high heeled shoe is the womans equivalent of the man's tie except slightly more hazardous to one's health and particularly under the influence.

Be confident enough not to be dragged into the murky depth of this archaic fashion accessory. I personally have felt no significant loss in any aspect of life by not wearing high heeled shoes, and anyone who is bothered by their loss is possible too shallow and superficial to be concerned with.

It could also be a fashionable new womens' self-defense accessory: projectile stiletto spikes.
