Lightweight "kite rods" (fiberglass tubing) connected along your feet with loops on the side of the pants (or on connected rings) keep the rods in place.

They are connected to the shoes. a small electric motor, in a backpack pushes the rods down (via a small string connected to the rod) and releases it when power is turned off).

Will assist in walking up stairs, riding a bike, or pushing a heavy weight.

Power pants and power shirt The opposite of my (pulling only) other idea [pashute, Jul 08 2013]

Like this kite http://www.brookite...ookite_Box_Kite.jpg
with only one kite rod (instead of the four) for each foot. [pashute, Jul 10 2013]

Cowboy_20Wishbones give those rods a bit of curvature. and become a real cowboy [xenzag, Jul 10 2013]

Heck, his pants will turn into a tent if you just _talk_ about pushing the button!

I suppose it might be possible to return to the actual path of this idea.

I think it has some merit, but I'd like to see if it couldn't regenerate energy from going downstairs etc.

Also some method of conserving energy when walking on the flat, eg when pushing a heavy weight.

This would be sort of like that curved steel prosthesis that one leggest south african uses, except the whole pants, and with legs.

No, its along your legs locked in the loops, keeping it vertical.

Hazardous in a strong wind to walk around with kites strapped to your legs.
