Big sticky harpoon of justice

When the long arm of the law isn’t quite long enough

Its big. It’s sticky. And it helps catch criminals.

I was thinking about the toddler harpoon on my way home from work yesterday when I spotted a local bobby on his bike (yes, really) and I thought – well, why not? A grown-up version for deployment by a policeperson.

A big harpoon gun firing a bolt (something like a large version of a foam "stomp rocket") with a very sticky glob on the end - say, 6 inches across, and about as sticky as…er…a very sticky thing.

Rapidly departing crook, whoosh, splat - crook reeled in and apprehended.

GPS Glue Gun http://www.timesonl...069-2023854,00.html
An interesting variant for police chases - tag the fleeing car with a sticky GPS, and track it remotely. No fleet of screaming police cars required any more. [DrCurry, Aug 01 2006]

Glue guns are pretty Baked as non-lethal weapons. Except I think they call it sticky foam.
