When I insert my house key in the door, an LCD will show the faces of those presently inside (unless someone left/entered through a window). Cameras on both sides of the outer doors identify and update the population. Should be disabled before surprise parties.

       When we have RFID locks on our homes (like the Honda Prius car has) then we would know who was in or out without cameras (I seem to be on an RFID kick). Two sensors either side of door so approach or withdrawal are detected.
