When we return from a vacation, we bring a new fridge magnet. To place it on the fridge we have to remove some older magnets, which takes time, because we don't remember which ones are the oldest.
Now I propose a battery-powered fridge elecromagnet. When the battery runs out, the magnet falls down,
freeing the space for the new one.

I must admit I'm uncertain how the subtitle applies to this proposal. |
Approved, provided there's a fridgemagnet graveyard to where the dead magnets are sent. (this being a totally separate idea I had residing in a notebook but now don't have to develop and post) |

Well, at least it's not in other:general |

In general I'm against planned obsolescence. |

You lost me at the subtitle. |

[Voice] Did you miss Fridge Electromagnets1? Electrifying. |
The mosquito nets are crucial. |
The fridge door is covered by a grid like a high voltage mosquito net. Outside of this is a mesh made of magnetic type substances. |
The fridge electomagnet has a small rechargeable battery or capacitor type device which electricizes the electromagnet and keeps it attached to the magnetic type layer. |
When a fridge magnet connoisseur carresses a lovely fridge magnet, the pressure of their gentle touch presses the pollen-like spikes through the outer magnetic mesh to touch the high-voltage mesh, allowing current to flow and recharge the little battery thing. |
The power of the battery or capacitor is adjusted so that if a magnet is not touched for a week it loses power and drops to the floor. |
That way, the attrition of the magnets is not simply time-based, but is connected to how much or little each is appreciated. |

I don't know how you figured out that's what he meant, or whether that's what he meant, but I'm impressed. |
